About KitchenCalcs
KitchenCalcs exists because kitchen conversions are looked up millions of times a day, and most of the answers online are copies of copies with no source attached. This site does one thing: fast, accurate kitchen calculators whose every constant traces back to a primary source.
Where the numbers come from
- Food safety temperatures — USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service published charts, including the 325°F turkey roasting table and safe minimum internal temperatures.
- Ingredient weights — the King Arthur Baking ingredient weight chart, the de facto standard US recipe developers write against.
- Appliance conversions — the manufacturer-standard air fryer rule (−25°F / −20% time) and the widely published oven-to-slow-cooker brackets.
- Everything else — NIST customary measures and straightforward geometry, shown on the page so you can check the math yourself.
Editorial rules
- Every non-obvious constant links to its source at the bottom of the page.
- Safety numbers (USDA) are never rounded in the unsafe direction.
- Where honest answers are ranges — slow cooker times, brew ratios — we show ranges, not fake precision.
- Pages state when they were last reviewed.
How the site is funded
KitchenCalcs is free and supported by advertising and, on some pages, Amazon affiliate links that are always labeled. Ads never change the numbers. See the disclaimer and privacy policy for the full picture, or get in touch if you spot an error — corrections ship fast.
